How can I monitor the maximal memory used during simulation?

Hi all!

I'm running some simulation on a cluster and the simulation takes quite a while. So it's not possible for me to stare at the screen to see how much memory (the maximal value) is used by the simulation. Is there any way the consumed memory is recorded automatically?
